A pair of Quintelle brass curled leaf wall lamps glowing either side of a painting above a living room fireplace.

01 · Read The Leaf

One piece of brass, five moves.

From the rolled tip down to the stem, every part of Quintelle is the same leaf doing something different.

01The rolled tipThe leaf’s point rolls up and over, so the bulb stays out of sight.
02The wrapThe leaf curls around itself, with a raised rib spiralling across it.
03The open foldWhere the curl opens, the light gets out and the brass inside glows.
04The veined bladeA hammered surface, a centre vein and rippled edges catch the glow.
05The stemA slim brass stem finishes the leaf, like one just picked.
02 · Where The Light Goes

The bulb stays hidden. Only the glow gets out.

The glow escapes from the open fold and washes down the leaf’s veined surface, so the wall lights up as if the sun were catching a leaf.

Hidden in the roll

The bulb sits inside the curl, behind the rolled tip. You see brass, not a bulb.

04 · Where It Lives

Best in pairs, fine on its own.

Two leaves frame what sits between them: art, a bed, a mirror. One leaf on its own warms a corner. Tap a room to open it.

05 · Mounting Height

Where to put it on the wall.

Measure from the floor to the middle of the leaf. At 55 cm / 21.7" tall, the leaf runs about 11 in above and below that point.

01Hallway or living room

Centre the leaf 60–66 in / 152–168 cm from the floor.

03Either side of a mirror

At face height, 30–40 in / 76–102 cm apart, centre to centre.

Hardwired to a wall junction box. It sits 15 cm / 5.9" off the wall, so keep it clear of door swings.

06 · Questions

Before it goes up.

What size room is it for?

One lamp suits about 5–8 m² / 55–85 sq ft. In larger rooms, use a pair.

Where does the light go?

The bulb is hidden in the curl. Light comes out of the open fold and washes down the leaf and the wall.

What bulb does it take?

One G9 bulb, not included. A 3000K warm white suits it best.

How far does it stick out?

15 cm / 5.9" from the wall, and it is 15.3 cm / 6" wide.

How high should I mount it?

Centre it about 60–66 in / 152–168 cm from the floor, a little lower beside a bed.

Is it hardwired?

Yes, it connects to a wall junction box. We recommend a licensed electrician.

Care in four lines
  • Switch off and let the G9 bulb cool before touching the leaf.
  • Dust inside the fold with a soft, dry brush.
  • Wipe the brass with a dry cloth; skip polish, water and cleaners.
  • Pull the G9 bulb straight out to change it. Do not twist.

Four hands-on stages

From a bar of raw brass to the frame of your lamp, each stage is done by a person at a machine or a bench.

A brass rod being turned on a metal lathe with curls of brass swarf
A craftsman cutting brass sheet into shapes at the bench
A metalworker welding a brass lamp frame at the bench

Brass

Mostly copper, strengthened with zinc. That simple mix gives brass its warm golden color, its weight and its strength, and it is the metal we build our lamp bodies from.

Look closer at the metal

Brass rewards a close look. Tap a point to see what solid metal does that coated metal cannot.

You feel it the moment you lift it

Brass is one of the densest metals used in lighting. That weight is why a brass lamp hangs steady and feels solid in your hands.

Solid brass vs. brass-colored

Both can look golden on day one. Drag to see what sits under the surface.

Gold all the way through

Scratch solid brass and you find more brass. Scratch plating and grey metal shows.

No rust underneath

Brass does not rust. Plated iron rusts once the coating wears thin.

Detail that stays sharp

Machined brass keeps crisp lines; cast alloys tend to look soft.
