Mervaise Brass Cherub Crystal Tier Table Lamp

A leaf crown, two tiers and a watch of cherubs

The Mervaise Brass Cherub Crystal Tier Table Lamp rises from a scrolled brass base to two tiers of crystal fringe, crowned by a ring of upswept brass leaves and watched over by small brass cherubs.

Clear K-9 crystal prisms hang from each tier, so the lit lamp throws fine sparkle across the tabletop and nearby walls.

Sparkle that reaches the walls

Questions

Before you order

What surface does it need?

A stable, level console, sideboard or dresser at least 16" deep, since the crystal tiers are 15.7" across.

How tall is it?

89 cm / 35" tall and 40 cm / 15.7" across, on a 25 cm / 9.8" base.

What bulbs does it use?

Three E12/E14 candelabra bulbs, not included and purchased separately. 3000K warm white suits it best.

Is the crystal real glass?

Yes. The prisms are clear K-9 crystal, an optical glass that stays clear and does not yellow.

Can I use a pair?

Yes. Two at either end of a long console or sideboard make a balanced, formal arrangement.

How do I clean it?

Unplug it, let it cool, then dust the brass and wipe each prism with a soft lint-free cloth.

Four hands-on stages

From a bar of raw brass to the frame of your lamp, each stage is done by a person at a machine or a bench.

A craftsman cutting brass sheet into shapes at the bench
A metalworker welding a brass lamp frame at the bench

Brass

Mostly copper, strengthened with zinc. That simple mix gives brass its warm golden color, its weight and its strength, and it is the metal we build our lamp bodies from.

Look closer at the metal

Brass rewards a close look. Tap a point to see what solid metal does that coated metal cannot.

You feel it the moment you lift it

Brass is one of the densest metals used in lighting. That weight is why a brass lamp hangs steady and feels solid in your hands.

Solid brass vs. brass-colored

Both can look golden on day one. Drag to see what sits under the surface.

vs
Gold all the way through

Scratch solid brass and you find more brass. Scratch plating and grey metal shows.

No rust underneath

Brass does not rust. Plated iron rusts once the coating wears thin.

Detail that stays sharp

Machined brass keeps crisp lines; cast alloys tend to look soft.
