Albrenne · Alabaster slat mini pendant

7.1″acrossSlim slats of stone, lit from within

Slim slats of natural alabaster stand side by side at staggered heights, held in a ring by a metal band studded with small rivets. Switch it on and the stone glows from within; its cloudy gray and amber veining comes alive in a soft, warm haze. Every slat is cut from natural stone, so no two Albrenne pendants have quite the same veining.

Close-up of lit natural alabaster slats with cloudy gray and amber veining
01

Veining that wakes up at night

By day the slats read creamy white with drifts of gray. With the bulb on, light passes through the stone and the veining turns honey and amber.

  • Natural alabaster, not resin or glass
  • Each slat has its own pattern, so every pendant is one of a kind
  • Glow is soft and diffused, with no harsh hot spot

02

A metal band, studded with rivets

A slim band circles the top third of the shade and holds every slat in place. Small domed rivets, two per slat, sit on the face of the stone like a row of beads.

  • Band, rivets, chain and canopy share one finish
  • Gold reads warm; nickel reads cool and quiet
  • Stone and metal meet without visible glue lines

Staggered heights, a soft crown

Shown in goldnickel; switch the finish at the top of the page.

The slats are rounded at the top and clipped at the lower corners, then set at different heights around a metal drum. From below and from the side, the outline looks hand-gathered rather than machine-even.

  • One E12 / E14 candelabra socket sits inside the drum
  • Rounded tops catch a little light above the band
  • Compact 7.1 in footprint, 11.8 in tall

Light & bulb

Pick a white, see how the stone glows

Albrenne takes one E12 / E14 candelabra bulb, and the bulb is not included. The color of the glow comes from the bulb you choose; preview the three common whites below.

With a 2700K bulb, the amber veins deepen toward candlelight. Cozy for a bedroom or reading nook.

With a 3000K warm white bulb, the stone stays creamy and the veining reads honey-gold. It suits Albrenne best in kitchens and entries.

With a 4000K bulb, the stone turns paler and the gray veins come forward. Crisper, but less of the warm haze.

Good to know
  • A small LED candle bulb runs cool inside the stone shade.
  • Frosted bulbs give the most even glow; clear ones show a brighter center.
  • Final color depends on the bulb you buy, not the fixture.

Shorten the chain so each pendant clears the counter by about 32 in. The stone sits low enough to light the work surface without blocking sightlines.

With the full chain, the bottom of the stone lands just under 33 in above the counter, exactly where it should be for a tall kitchen.

Hanging just one? Where people walk under it, keep the bottom at least 7 ft (84 in) off the floor, which works best with 9 ft ceilings and up. Over an island, space a row of three about 24–30 in apart. Drop is measured from the canopy.
Three Albrenne alabaster slat mini pendants glowing over a marble kitchen island with dark wood cabinets

In a row

Three small glows, one long counter

At 7.1 in across, Albrenne is small enough to repeat. Two or three in a line give an island even light from end to end, and the alabaster softens stone counters and wood cabinetry alike.

Where it hangs

Small enough for almost anywhere

Albrenne brings a calm, modern organic touch to kitchens, bedrooms and entries. Hang one alone where you want a quiet glow, or repeat it in a row.

The material

Alabaster, a stone that lets light through

Alabaster has been used for lamps for centuries for one reason: cut thin, it lets light pass through the stone itself. That is what gives Albrenne its glow.

Light glowing through raw alabaster blocks

Translucent

The whole slat lights up, so the shade glows softly instead of showing one bright spot.

Rough block of white alabaster with gray veining

Soft enough to shape

A fine-grained, soft stone that can be cut thin and sanded smooth. Cool and silky to the touch.

Stacked alabaster blocks, each with different veining

Never the same twice

Veining forms naturally in the stone, so every block, and every slat cut from it, has its own pattern.

Real stone, not resin or glass

The craft

From quarry block to glowing slat

Turning raw stone into a slat thin enough to glow takes cutting, shaping and a lot of sanding. Here is how the stone gets from the ground to your ceiling.

Alabaster quarry with excavators lifting large blocks of white stone
01

Quarried in blocks

Alabaster is lifted from the quarry in large raw blocks, each with its own mix of white, gray and amber.

·

Why each one differs

Because every slat comes from a natural block, color and veining shift slightly from one pendant to the next. That variation is part of the stone.

Wet saw cutting a block of alabaster into slabs
02

Cut into slabs

A water-cooled saw slices each block into thin slabs, which are then cut down into individual slats.

Craftsman sanding an alabaster block smooth with a hand sander
03

Shaped and sanded

Each slat is given its rounded top and clipped corners, then sanded until the surface turns silky.

Craftsman hand-finishing a piece of alabaster that glows from a light behind it
04

Finished by hand

Edges are eased by hand, then the finished slats are set at staggered heights and riveted to the metal band.

Octagonal gold canopy and link chain of the Albrenne pendant The octagonal canopy covers the ceiling box and matches the frame finish.
Are bulbs included? What bulb should I buy?

Bulbs are not included. Albrenne takes one E12 / E14 candelabra bulb, up to 25W. We suggest a small LED candle bulb in 3000K warm white, which keeps the alabaster creamy and the veining honey-toned. Frosted bulbs give the most even glow. The final light color depends on the bulb you choose.

Is the shade real alabaster? Will mine look like the photos?

Yes, every slat is cut from natural alabaster. Because it is real stone, the gray and amber veining varies from slat to slat, so your pendant will look a little different from the photos and from any other Albrenne.

Can I adjust the chain length?

Yes. The 39.4 in (100 cm) link chain is adjustable, so you can set the height to suit your ceiling. If you need a longer chain, contact us before ordering.

What is the difference between gold and nickel?

Only the metal finish changes: the band, rivets, chain and canopy come in gold or nickel. The alabaster slats, size and bulb are the same. Gold feels warmer next to wood and brass; nickel suits white, gray and chrome-toned rooms.

Where does it work best, and how many should I hang?

At 7.1 in (18 cm) across and 11.8 in (30 cm) tall, Albrenne is a mini pendant. Hang one over a nightstand, in an entry, powder room or above a small breakfast table. Over a kitchen island, use two or three in a row, spaced about 24 to 30 in apart.

How is it installed and cleaned?

Albrenne is hardwired to a ceiling junction box, and the octagonal canopy covers the box. We recommend a licensed electrician. To clean, turn it off, let it cool, and dust the stone and metal with a soft dry cloth; avoid water and cleaning sprays on the alabaster.
