Hand-blown glass tube mini chandelier

BREVALLE

Eight tubes of glass, amber gold and blush pink, lit like icicles at sunset

Textured, hand-blown glass tubes hang in a tight ring from a slim metal frame. When the lights are on, the ribbed glass catches and scatters the glow, so every tube shimmers with warm color.

Day & night

Soft color by day, a warm shimmer by night

With the lights off, the tubes read as quiet amber and pale blush glass. Switch them on and the ribbed texture breaks the light into fine streaks, so the whole ring glows from within.

Lit: the amber tubes turn honey gold and the blush tubes glow a pale rose.

Off: the glass keeps its color, so the chandelier still reads as a piece of decor in daylight.

Up close

Glass that catches light, a frame that stays slim

Every tube is hand-blown with a deep, irregular rib, then hung by a small ring from the metal frame. Up close, no two tubes have quite the same texture.

Hanging it over a walkway? Keep the bottom at least 7 ft (84 in) off the floor; at 16.5 in tall, that needs a ceiling of about 9 ft or higher. Drop is measured from the canopy.

Warm white, so the glass keeps its color

The photo shows the glow we recommend: 3000K warm white bulbs, which keep the amber honey-toned and the blush tubes a soft rose. Brevalle takes G9 bulbs; bulbs are not included.

FAQ

Before you choose Brevalle

Chain 39.4 in (100 cm), adjustable
Glass 8 hand-blown tubes, amber gold and blush pink
Bulb G9, not included

Are bulbs included? What bulb should I buy?

Bulbs are not included. Brevalle takes G9 bulbs. We recommend G9 LED bulbs in 3000K warm white, which keep the amber glass honey-toned and the blush glass a soft rose. The final light color depends on the bulbs you choose.

Is the glass hand-blown? Will mine look like the photos?

Yes, each of the eight tubes is hand-blown textured glass, four in amber gold and four in blush pink. Because they are made by hand, the ribbing and color can vary slightly from tube to tube.

Can I adjust the chain length?

Yes. The 39.4 in (100 cm) chain is adjustable, so you can set the height for your ceiling. If you need a longer chain, contact us before ordering.

What is the difference between gold and nickel?

Only the metal finish changes: the frame, chain and canopy come in gold or nickel. The glass tubes, size and bulb type are the same. Gold warms wood and brass; nickel suits white, gray and cooler paint colors.

Where does it work best, and how many should I hang?

At 11.0 in (28 cm) across and 16.5 in (42 cm) tall, Brevalle suits bedrooms, closets, bathrooms, entries and small round tables. Over a kitchen island or long table, hang two or three in a row, about 24 to 30 in apart.

How is it installed and cleaned?

Brevalle is hardwired to a ceiling junction box under the round canopy. We recommend a licensed electrician. To clean, switch it off, let the glass cool and wipe each tube with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth.

Made to order

Pick a shape and a color, and we will build it into the chandelier you need.

Start with one of our four glass shapes, choose from the colors we make it in, then send us your choice. We blow the shades to order and fit them to your fixture.

Your selection

Each shade is blown, shaped and colored by hand, then matched against our color standard before it leaves the workshop. Shades on screen are a guide; the glass itself will vary slightly.

Found your shape and color? Tell us and we will build it.

Email the shape and color you have chosen, along with the fixture and the number of shades you need. We will get back to you to confirm the details.

Hand-blown art glass

Every shade on this chandelier began as glass at 2,000°F.

Before it ever held light, the glass on your chandelier was melted, blown and shaped by hand in a working glass studio. Here is how it is made, and why it glows the way it does.

Hand-blown art glass pieces and glass rods laid out on a studio table
2,000°F

Furnace heat needed before the glass is soft enough to shape.

One at a time

Each piece is gathered, blown and finished by a maker’s hands.

Color in the glass

Color is fused in while molten, never painted onto the surface.

The process

From furnace to fixture, in four stages.

Why hand-blown, and not pressed.

Depth, not a flat wash

Pressed glass is stamped in a mold: uniform, thin and flat once the light is behind it. Hand-blown glass varies slightly in thickness, and that variation gives the glow its depth.

Color through the whole wall

Color goes into the melt rather than onto the surface, so it runs the full thickness of the glass. It cannot chip, fade or wear off at the rim.

Worth the extra time

It costs more and takes longer to make. It also looks like nothing else in the room.

Signs of the hand, not flaws.

  • Tiny bubblesSmall seeds of air are trapped as the glass is gathered and turned.
  • Slight shifts in shadeColor can deepen where the glass is thicker and soften where it thins.
  • Gentle ripplesFaint waves in the surface show where the glass was shaped by hand.

Because each piece is made by hand, the glass on your chandelier will differ slightly from the photos. No two are exactly alike.
