A closer look

Made to be seen up close

Every fixture we make is built to hold attention at arm's length as well as from across the room. Below are the details worth noticing on this one.

Design notes

Three details worth a closer look

What separates this one from a standard brass chandelier.

01
Softened Corners, Squared Edges

Softened Corners, Squared Edges

Every panel turns a full radius at one end and holds a straight edge at the other, so the two shapes read as related but never identical — the reason the overlap looks composed rather than repeated.

02
A Bar Across the Stone

A Bar Across the Stone

A slim metal strip crosses the panel diagonally where the two shapes intersect, breaking the glow into two halves and giving the composition a line to resolve against.

03
Alabaster's Warm Even Glow

Alabaster's Warm Even Glow

Light travels through the stone rather than out of an opening, so the whole panel lifts at once — a soft, low-glare warmth with nothing bright to look into.

Craftsmanship

Alabaster is quarried, not made —
every block arrives with its own veining.

Real Alabaster, Cut Not Cast

Most fixtures sold as alabaster are resin or frosted acrylic cast to imitate it — the veining is printed into the mould, and every unit comes out identical.

We cut ours from quarried blocks. The stone is sawn, hollowed, shaped and polished as itself, and the pattern you see is the geology of that particular piece.

That decision changes everything downstream.

NATURAL ORIGIN

The Stone's Own Light

The surface is the Alabaster itself.

No wax, no lacquer, no sealing coat. Many stone-look shades rely on a film to produce the glow — ours does not, so the warmth comes from the material rather than from something applied over it.

01

Select

Every block is held against a lamp; only stone that passes light evenly goes forward.

02

Cut

Sawn down to rough blanks, sized to the piece.

03

Sand

Wet-sanded through successive grits until the surface runs smooth to the touch.

04

Wash

Rinsed and dried, so no grit is left sitting in the veining.
