The Akari 60A Pendant Light is a contemporary take on Japanese paper lanterns created by renowned sculptor Isamu Noguchi. First introduced in 1951 during Noguchi's time in Gifu, Japan, these lamps draw inspiration from the lanterns traditionally used by local fishermen for night fishing on the Nagara River. Crafted by hand from bamboo and translucent paper, Akari lamps combine traditional paper-light techniques with Noguchi's unique sculptural designs, resulting in a cozy and inviting ambiance.
